Treating data as a product is a paradigm shift from big data to lean data. Traditional data management has problems scaling. Data warehouses created bottlenecks, while data lakes quickly turned into chaotic places with not much quality assurance. Applying product thinking to data in a domain driven approach is a very promising path forward to scale data management.
